Your local health service

Central Highlands Rural Health was formed in November 2019 with the joining of Hepburn Health and Kyneton District Health, ensuring residents can access the very best health care closer to home, long into the future.

We service Macedon Ranges Shire and Hepburn Shire with rural hospitals in Kyneton and Daylesford, Residential Aged Care in Daylesford, Trentham and Creswick and operate Community Aged Care services and Community Health services across the region.

A leader in Aged Care

Central Highlands Rural Health was recently shortlisted in two categories at the 2023 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards. The rural health service was an award finalist in Excellence in Aged Care and Small Health Service of the Year.

It is also the first Victorian health service to achieve recognition for excellence in Aged Care by a global healthcare benchmarking institute. In 2023, it received special recognition as an Age-Friendly Health Systems — Committed to Care Excellence by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement

This recognition has been earned through its approach and vision ‘To deliver the Best Care for every person, every time’ by building a culture of patient-centred care and respecting the diverse choices and preferences of all older people.

An inclusive health service

Central Highlands Rural Health is committed to providing inclusive care to LGBTIQA+ people. Central Highlands Rural Health is Rainbow Tick accredited across all campuses including Clunes Health, Creswick Health, Daylesford Health, Kyneton Health and Trentham Health.

Central Highlands Rural Health has an LGBTIQA+ Advisory Group to guide the organisation in decisions around making our services welcoming and inclusive.

All staff at Central Highlands Rural Health are required to undertake mandatory LGBTIQA+ inclusive practice training. Other LGBTIQA+ education is also provided regularly.
